MEET THE PASTORS
Justin & Tamara Menzies
Justin Menzies became lead pastor of First Love Church (then Jubilee Christian Centre) in September of 2021. Prior to this, Justin and his wife Tamara served Jubilee for five years in young adults and youth ministry.
Long before taking this formal position, Justin and Tamara have lived to see Jesus known and followed. Justin laid down his electrical company and began “Ministry of the Feet” in 2020, and they have been engaged in many forms of ministry, serving various churches and ministries over the past 15 years.
Justin became an ordained minister and Tamara a licensed minister through the Ministers Network of Canada in 2021. They are deeply committed to the Body of Christ, and desire the unity which Jesus Himself longs for (John 17:21-24).
They are passionate about people discovering the greatness of who Jesus is and to see God’s people love Him wholeheartedly in purity, righteousness and steadfast faith.
Justin was born and raised in Calgary. He ran from God in his early teens and chose a life of addiction, violence and bouts of homelessness. In 2007, he responded to God’s call and moved to Vancouver, BC, to join a ministry school called “Streams Ministries” under the late John Paul Jackson. It was there that he fully surrendered his life to God and had a new beginning at the age of 22.
Tamara was born in Edmonton and raised in Kelowna, BC. She surrendered her life to God at the early age of 14. She attended YWAM as a young adult and then pursued a career as a social worker. In addition to being on staff and serving the church in various capacities, Tamara works as a registered social worker in her private counselling practice.
MEET THE STAFF
Darlene Friesen
Darlene Friesen and her husband Garry have been married since 1977. They have 3 children and 16 grandchildren and they are delighted to see the family continue to grow.
Darlene and Garry began attending the church in August of 2004. She began working as a receptionist in 2006, and in June of 2011, she also started doing the bookkeeping.
Darlene finds it a joy to serve the body of Christ in this capacity. Additionally, both her and Garry are gifted at connecting and folding people into community. They bring a warmth, joy and a welcoming presence to FLC that communicates the love of God in a really special way.
Tammy Orsak
Tammy and her family made First Love Church their home church in 2021. They immediately felt at home, and Tammy’s goal became to ensure that every member and visitor feels welcomed and appreciated when they walk through the doors.
Tammy recruits, trains and schedules volunteers, and organizes and plans volunteer appreciation and training events throughout the year. She also organizes several special events during the year.
She is tremendously gifted in helping the church run efficiently and in setting a culture of peace and order. She feels honored to be a part of the team here at First Love Church and is excited for what God is building here.
Kieauna Kittlaus
Kieauna joined the staff team as the Children’s Pastor in early 2024, shortly after completing her degree in education. She is a lover of Jesus and is passionate about leading others into this same love.
Kieauna has a special calling in working with children and youth. She has served as a leader in Tehilla Youth Ministry School, and has volunteered with United Youth Outreach. She is committed to following the Holy Spirit in how to best disciple the next generation. FLC is blessed to have her leading in children’s ministry!
Sam Linteau
Sam – a faithful volunteer with FLC’s sound and tech team – joined the staff team in early 2024. He is an active part of the First Love community, especially the youth group, and he loves outreach and evangelism as well.
Sam brings a simultaneously lighthearted and earnest presence into the audio visual ministry, and his hard work in this realm is a blessing to the church!
MEET THE ELDERS
Chris & Ashley Palin
Chris and Ashley are the proud parents of two boys, and have been a part of the First Love Church community since 2021.
They have been active leaders in the Body of Christ for the past 16 years, and they currently serve as elders, worship leaders, and the leaders of our Evangelism ministry.
They have a passion for the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20 – to evangelize, make disciples, baptize them and teach them how to walk intimately with the Lord.
They love walking with people in their faith journey and praying with those who are going through difficult circumstances.
Derek & Tammy Belzile
Derek and Tammy just celebrated 25 years of marriage, and together they have raised four amazing boys, three of which are now young adults.
This past summer they were so excited to welcome a new daughter in law who married their eldest son.
They have been in ministry leadership for over 20 years, and consider it an honor to serve the people at First Love Church.
Alison Springer
Alison started attending FLC in October 2022. She is honored to serve as an elder, overseeing prayer and celebration at FLC.
Alison is co-leading the corporate prayer ministry, and teaching Sunday school for grade 5 to 7. She has previously served local churches in the city as a youth pastor, elementary Sunday school teaching lead, and served women’s ministries in the church and outside the church.
She is currently on the board of City Wide Prayer Rally. A professional speaker, her career enables her to do what she loves which is travelling.

Experience a Sunday Service with us
While Sunday mornings are only part of being the church, they are dear times of fellowship, worship, and growing together in the Lord. At First Love Church, we prioritize being a resting place for the Holy Spirit, and seeking to know Jesus more holds the highest value. When we love Him most, we love each other best.
What to Expect?
If you’re new to church or haven’t been in a while, walking in can feel intimidating. To give you an idea, consider watching a service before attending.

You’ll be warmly welcomed, have a chance to connect, enjoy simple and authentic worship, and hear Bible-based teaching that reminds you of truth and of God’s love for you.
Family-Friendly Experience
We offer exceptional, enjoyable, and secure programs for children during the service. Kids will enjoy a clean and nurturing environment where they engage in crafts, games, songs, and learn from the Bible each week.
